Every year I take the week of Thanksgiving as a time of reflection of all of the blessing I have here on this physical earth. This year, I have something very special to be thankful for. As most of you know, my twelve year old daughter underwent a major surgery just three weeks ago. She had to have a spinal fusion and was in a children’s hospital for nine days.
Some of what she had to go through was very hard to watch, and at times was very hard on her. However, we prayed that God would continue to heal her and relieve her of her pain. The first week home from the hospital was learning how to walk, sit, eat, brush her hair and the like using muscles that had all been disturbed. The first time we tried to wash her hair we both cried. Through all of this, however, she was really brave and smiled through all the pain. We never doubted that we would soon have our cheerful Bekah back. As every day passed we worked on her physical therapy every hour on the hour for ten minutes even though at times we both wanted to take a break. Thank God we are at a turning point, and I can say the worse is behind her. God saw us through it all and gave us strength our family did not know we had.
As you can see from the two pictures above, we have a lot to be thankful for. Here she is just three weeks later and she is helping prepare the Thanksgiving meal, and practicing her piano song that she wrote just weeks before her surgery. Does she look great or what? Every time I look at this picture of her cooking, I get all teared up. Our Bekah is back!!

I am also very thankful for my family. My three girls are just so wonderful and bring joy to me every day. They are all so cheerful and fun to be with. I am thankful for my husband who is a very loving, supportive, and encouraging husband and father. My husband is self sacrificial and does whatever it takes to take care of his family and make all four of his girls smile.
I’m also very thankful for all of my readers here at Frugal Living And Having Fun. You all encourage me very much. Your success stories, your savings, your frugality and most of all your love and kindness you display here on this blog. ~ Thank you.
